The Stream is where we grow our juvenile Salmon. It is a narrow tank with a fast through flow of water which the young Salmon love. We feed the young Salmon on a mixture of flakes and pellets which have been specially formulated to provide the fish with all the goodness they need to grow healthily.

The young Salmon are known as Salmon Parr, and we will grow them in the Stream for around the first 18 months of their life. Once they are about a year and a half old, they start to become Salmon Smolts, which means they are ready to move into salt water, and we will transfer them from The Stream into one of our salt water tanks.

There are many “feeder” streams which link into the River Corrib which are home to juvenile Salmon like ours.
