The Marine Institute and Galway Atlantaquaria have developed a programme where local schools are invited to set up and maintain an Explorers Aquarium in their school on a term-by-term basis.

Students learn about the native species found on their local seashore and work as a team maintaining their tank. They also learn about the seashore environment and conservation.
