PRESS RELEASE
October 23rd 2009
Sunday Fun Day promises a day of Madness with Scientists from Yesteryear.
Science Week Ireland is a week of events held across Ireland each November - the biggest annual promotion of science to the public.
Galway will once again host the opening event of the week. In conjunction with the Marine Institute, Galway Atlantaquaria has arranged a packed programme for Science Week Ireland with the Annual Sunday Fun Day which takes place at the aquarium on Sunday November 8th between 11.00 and 5.30 p.m.
Make this a family fun day of Science & Discovery. Meet the scientists, inventors and creators from yesteryear. Learn about science, the sea and enjoy a day of madness, mischief and discovery rolled out by characters such as "Einstein", Jacque Cousteau", "John Philip Holland", Marconi and many others.......who will be telling wild stories about submarines, scuba diving, inventing the radio and the wonders of maths behind the Rubik cube and your screen saver.
Activities will also include cartoon drawing classes, face painting, story telling, a competition for the best 'futuristic submarine" design and the chance to meet other fun characters.
Details of the “Design a Submarine” competition can be found on www.nationalaquarium.ie or www.marine.ie or hard copies can be picked up from the aquarium.
Special prices of €6.00 per adult and €4.00 per child will be available on the day. For more information contact Atlantaquaria on 091 585100.
