Cups & Crown to launch a Fishy Tale at Atlantaquaria - Published @ 19:03, 16/11/2009

Cups & Crowns and Fishy Tales!

Celebrated Galway Company Cups and Crowns will surround themselves with fishy friends including pupils from Scoil Einde, Salthill when they launch their 2009 touring show for primary schools this week at Galway Atlantaquaria.

‘Blenny -the waterdaughter’  is set in a small fishing town off the coast of Ireland, where Mack the lighthouse keeper watches over the town and the ocean. Just as the lighthouse illuminates the Cliffs, the Bay, the Town, the Pier, the Ocean, Mack sheds light on the hidden secrets of his community, a place where stories grow legs… Fins and Fish lips!”

The play is a one woman show especially devised for 3rd, 4th, 5th  and 6th  classes and provides young people with a unique opportunity to experience an unforgettable cultural engagement. Blenny, The water daughter, is a captivating and enthralling tale which is skilfully ‘unravelled’ by the storyteller who uses only herself and the imaginary characters around her to bring you into Mack’s world.

The company now embarks on a primary school tour along the Western seaboard.  The Primary school touring programme includes:  40min Production, Pre-performance Workshop Post Show chatback, Teacher Pack with follow on Artistic and curriculum Activities including Science devised by the Environmental Change Institute of NUI Galway and Galway Atlantaquaria.
