Being an education officer is great. I get to plan and run lots of different types of science workshops and experiments and go to the beach on fieldwork. Working in the aquarium means that I get to see my favourite fish all the time and I even have my own fish tank in the laboratory, where Bob the blenny lives.

Beachcombing and reading nature books - I'm afraid, I'm totally addicted to science.

I love the sea and painting and photography - actually all types of arts and crafts. I also really like to sing.

I love cuttlefish and am really lucky because the aquarium has some at the moment, although they are really hard to see! My favourite fish is a choice between herring (because I carried out research on them for 4 and a half years); and lesser spotted dogfish because they are great in the aquarium - always performing for the visitors and have loads of attitude.

A. A nervous wreck
