Sunday Funday “Start your Science Week with a Splash”
Galway Atlantaquaria is delighted to launch its Sunday Funday, Science week celebration on the 10th November from 11am until 5pm.
Our family day is designed to enable people to understand climate change, how science and technology can help us create a positive climate future, and the impact we as individuals can have on climate change.
The Day will be launched by Galway Science & Technology Festival Manager, Anne Murray, and will be followed by Bricks 4 kids Lego themed workshops, Galway Critters animal science, climate science games with the aquarium education team, underwater exploration with SmartBay Ireland, Animal Identification with Seasearch Ireland & NUIGalway, a display by the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group, art fun with Susie Quinn, face painting and lots more.
Galway Atlantaquaria, Ireland’s largest native species aquarium, is located alongside the midway point of the Wild Atlantic Way in Salthill promenade, Galway. It offers visitors a unique, interactive insight into the diversity of aquatic species that are found in Irish waters.
As part of Science Week, the aquarium will promote the effect positive actions in our community & world can have on Climate. Activities at Sunday Funday are designed to accessible and engaging for all the family and will help children explore the science behind weather, climate and our daily actions.
